The My BMW App is the universal interface to your BMW and to all other products and services from BMW. The My BMW App keeps you up to date on the status of your vehicle at all times. Depending on the equipment installed, it also makes remote access functions possible, such as locating the vehicle, locking and unlocking the doors or recording the vehicle’s surroundings (Remote 3D View). Using the My BMW App, you can send destination addresses from your smartphone to the navigation system of your vehicle. The app also offers a whole range of useful functions for electrified vehicles – for example, you always have electric range in view.

In demo mode, the My BMW app can also be used without owning a vehicle. Select an attractive BMW demo vehicle in the App Garage and discover the variety of App functions, e.g. in the area of electric mobility.

The My BMW App is available for both iOS and Android operating systems and can be downloaded free of charge via the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.

Yes, it does. If no WiFi is available, the My BMW App uses the data volume from your mobile phone contract. For example, it uses this volume to search for destinations via the integrated map and to transfer them to your vehicle.

SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION.

With smartphone integration, your vehicle supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through a wireless connection between your smartphone and your BMW. This allows you to access your favourite apps in the vehicle display and keep your eyes on the road. Navigation instructions from Apple Maps or Google Maps are even shown on your head-up display (if fitted).

Access your favourite apps in your BMW via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay with smartphone integration. With the constantly updated navigation apps, for example, you will receive the fastest route, including possible delays due to traffic jams. Your BMW will show the navigation instructions from Apple Maps (only in CarPlay) or Google Maps (only in Android Auto) on the fully digital Cockpit and in the head-up display (if fitted), so that you can travel safely while using apps on your smartphone. Smartphone integration also offers a solution for dictating and listening to messages while at the wheel.

Would you also like to use other services with voice control? Talk to Siri (only in CarPlay) or Google Assistant (only in Android Auto) and get things done with your voice so you can keep your focus on driving. The voice steering is specially designed for driving scenarios, which allow you to ask about opening hours of certain sights at your destination, find out the latest score of your favourite team or ask about your next appointments in the calendar.

You require the equipment BMW Teleservices (SA 6AE) and BMW Comfort Access (SA 322).
Your My BMW App shows whether your BMW is compatible. If the BMW Digital Key function can be selected in the app, your BMW is compatible.

Your digital key is securely stored on the secure element of your smartphone. In addition, both NFC and ultra-wideband technology are used to establish the immediate proximity of the sender and receiver in a tamper-proof manner.

Before you sell your vehicle, you should completely delete it from your BMW ID. This will ensure that all digitally created keys are automatically removed the next time you use a classic vehicle key.

Yes, you can easily share BMW Digital Key and BMW Digital Key Plus with other people, thereby authorising them to use your BMW. If you create a Main Key on your smartphone via the My BMW App, you can invite up to five people to use the digital key. To install the BMW Digital Key, the invited persons need a compatible smartphone. A BMW ID or the My BMW App are not required. As soon as the BMW Digital Key is accepted by the invited person, it is immediately fully functional.

You can revoke invitations at any time via the Control Display of the vehicle or via the My BMW App and delete authorised persons via smartphone. If the deletion is made via the vehicle, the BMW Digital Key of the friend is deactivated immediately. If the deletion is made via the smartphone, the BMW Digital Key of the friend remains active until the vehicle is opened for the first time using another key. If you wish, you can restrict certain vehicle data such as horsepower or maximum speed for users of your BMW Digital Key.

As the owner of the Main Key, you can conveniently transfer the digital key to a new smartphone, and the invited friends will remain with it. If friends get a new device, a new invitation by the owner of the Main Key is required. Sharing the BMW Digital Key with other people is currently only possible with the Apple iPhone.

Apple:

BMW Digital Key is compatible with iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max or later and Apple Watch Series 5 or later. BMW Digital Key requires at least iOS 13.6 and watchOS 6.2.8 or later.

BMW Digital Key Plus is compatible with iPhone and Apple Watch devices with Apple's U1 chip. Your iPhone requires iOS 15, and your Apple Watch requires watchOS 8 or later.

Samsung:

BMW Digital Key is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra. BMW Digital Key requires at least Android 12.

Google:

BMW Digital Key is compatible with Google Pixel 6* and Google Pixel 6 Pro*. BMW Digital Key requires at least Android 12.

All compatible phones can only be used with vehicles with Teleservices (SA 6AE) and Comfort Access (SA 322 or SA 3DK).

For the provision of ConnectedDrive services such as Teleservice, etc., data is exchanged between the vehicle and BMW via the mobile network and processed at BMW for service provision.
