The feeling of driving the BMW M4 Convertible is one of breathtaking intensity, and a source of boundless driving pleasure. Everything about this high-performance athlete is primed for powerful dynamics and handling agility. And thanks to the many technologies derived from motorsport, this model athlete always converts its power into traction with the utmost precision. Especially if the optional Competition package with higher engine output and the special Adaptive M suspension is deployed.

The 3.0 l M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine blends the best of two worlds: a high-revving character capable of up to 7,600 rpm, and superior power culminating in peak torque of 550 Nm. Bi-turbo direct injection and typical M fine tuning make sure the engine responds directly to even the slightest touch of the accelerator with vigorous thrust and confident traction. Numerous innovations such as sleeveless construction or a lighter, forged crankshaft build on the intelligent lightweight construction concept, improve dynamics and acceleration, reduce consumption and enable an optimum axle load distribution of almost 50:50. The reward: unprecedentedly agile handling that’s impressively underscored by the unmistakable sound of the M engine.

BMW EfficientLightweight is an efficient lightweight-construction approach involving the use of ultra-light materials, and is the top priority in M vehicles. It realises a significant weight saving while boosting body rigidity. The benefits include an axle load distribution of almost 50:50 and a lower vehicle centre of gravity. In practice, that means improved directional stability and traction, along with better dynamics and agility.
